Legal cannabis production in Morocco reached a record 4,082 metric tonnes in 2024, according to official figures published by the National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis-Related Activities (ANRAC) in December 2024. This result represents a significant increase over previous seasons and cements Morocco as a major global actor in the legal cannabis sector.

AMCUC expressed its “great satisfaction” at this milestone, praising the remarkable work of ANRAC and all its institutional and agricultural partners. The association highlighted the decisive role of the thousands of farmers organised into licensed cooperatives who drive this strategic sector on a daily basis.

AMCUC emphasised that this productive momentum must be matched by regulatory advances in the therapeutic domain — in particular, accelerating the authorisation of cannabis-derived medicines and strengthening the training of Moroccan physicians and pharmacists, both core pillars of the association's mission.
