On 24 May 2025, Prof. Rabii Redouane, urological surgeon and president of AMCUC, delivered a scientific lecture in Casablanca on plant cannabinoids and the therapeutic management of metabolic diseases. This presentation was part of an ongoing cycle of medical meetings aimed at informing Moroccan healthcare professionals about the clinical applications of medical cannabis.
The lecture highlighted the therapeutic potential of phytocannabinoids — particularly CBD and other active cannabis compounds — in managing metabolic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. Prof. Redouane drew on the international scientific literature and on clinical experience gathered from abroad.
This event reflects the educational and scientific mission of AMCUC, which works to bridge the gap between global research advances and Moroccan medical practice. The association calls for the gradual integration of cannabinoids into national therapeutic protocols, under the rigorous oversight of the relevant medical authorities.
