On 11 June 2024, AMCUC held a signing ceremony in Casablanca at which it concluded two major partnership agreements for medical cannabis training. The first was signed with the Federation of Moroccan Pharmacists' Unions, represented by its president Dr Walid El Omari; the second covers the training of general practitioners in medical cannabis.
Under these agreements, AMCUC commits to organising four annual training sessions under its KIF TAKWINE programme. These sessions cover the pharmacological basis of cannabinoids, dispensing protocols, drug interactions and the current Moroccan legal framework. AMCUC will also mobilise international experts from countries with advanced cannabinoid pharmaceutical industries to transfer global best practices to Moroccan professionals.
These partnerships represent a decisive step in preparing the Moroccan healthcare system for the future prescription and dispensing of cannabis-derived medicines. They form part of AMCUC's broader strategy to equip Moroccan healthcare professionals with the competencies needed to support patients within a safe and regulated cannabinoid medicine framework.
